How to Choose a Comfortable Bra

Choosing the perfect bras are essential for your comfort and confidence. Follow these tips to find a bra that fits like a dream!

1. Get Fitted

Start by getting professionally fitted into well-fitting bras. Getting measured for a singular bra size is a huge myth that box retailers, manufacturers and the fashion industry perpetuates. It's cheaper and easier for them if you keep buying inferior products that you have to keep returning, replacing or worse keeping than it is to assist you in purchasing great pieces. Remember, your size and fit can change from bra to bra and color to color not just over time!

2. Consider Your Needs

Think about what you need in a bra - support, lift, coverage, or versatility? There is not one bra that will do it all...and even if it did you still need multiples and a variety. Choose multiple styles that meet your needs. Buy a wardrobe of bras where most of the bras will meet those specific needs. They will be more comfortable and perform better than you trying to make one bra work for everything.

3. Try Different Styles

Again, don't stick to just one style - try different types like balconette, plunge, or bralette to see what works best for you. Choose multiple styles that meet your needs.

4. Check the Fit

Make sure the bra fits well - the band should be snug, cups should encase your breasts fully, and the straps should not dig in.

5. Consider Fabric and Design

Choose a bras made from a variety of fabrics and colors. Cotton truly doesn't perform well in bras. There are many other comfortable fabrics that do though! Try microfiber, real lycra, high quality laces, and even tulle! These classic fabrics are not made with modern technology that includes anti-bacterial and moisture wicking properties, strength and breathability. Pay attention to details like the shape and placement of underwire, where stretch features are, and padding versus spacer materials.

6. Don't Sacrifice Comfort or Style

You truly can have bras that are comfortable and stylish. Gone are the days when if a bra was pretty, it wasn't comfortable or supportive. Style is equally as important as comfort.

Follow these tips to choose a comfortable bra that makes you look and feel fabulous!
